We had three hours of downtime on the 23rd October 2007 which affected all our hosting platforms. The problem was resolved quickly but it took until midnight for the internal servers to update. Several of our servers had multiple hardware failures which had to be completely replaced. We then used the backups from the 22nd October to restore them. This means that any emails received or changes made between the time of the backups and when the servers went down were lost, but this should have minimal impact. Any email received during the hardware failure will have been lost but any new emails received after the replacement hardware was in situ will filter through over the next few days. We apologise for this matter and anyone with any problems should contact us ASAP in the normal ways to get help. During the downtime, we also took the opportunity to upgrade our core server software and paid special attention to the email platform, in particular the spam protection that we provide has been significantly increased and we will be keeping our eye on it over the next few weeks.
